Albert C. “Al” Grosse (1919-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Albert C. “Al” Grosse, 95, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo.

He was born December 21, 1919 in Cedar Falls, son of Walter C. and Jennie (Vaughn) Grosse. He married Olive M. Getty on January 28, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died July 11, 2013.

He graduated from Janesville High School and farmed southwest of Janesville, retiring in 1984. He was an active member of Washington Chapel Methodist Church, for over 70 years.

Survived by a son, Richard (Dorothy Monk) Grosse of Cedar Falls; a son-in-law, Jack Jordan of Spooner, WI; three grandchildren, Suzy Grosse-Thorne, Jason (Leslie) Jordan and Amy Jordan; and two great grandchildren, Kachina and Khaliq Jordan.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jordan; two brothers, Irvin and Andrew Grosse; and two sisters, Dorothy Bauer and Eva Osborn.

Services: Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the activities department at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
