Daniel F. "Dan" Saice, 68, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at his home Wednesday, November 25, 2015 of natural causes.
He was born July 31, 1947 at White Earth Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota, son of Daniel and Ruth Heaney Saice.
Dan married Rebecca Hasenclever on May 6, 1989 in Denmark, Iowa. He graduated from Minneapolis Technical College with a degree in culinary arts. Dan was the Chef for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority and owned the Reno Inn Supper Club near Alexandria, Minnesota; then came to the Lamson Cafe and University of Northern Iowa Food Service.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Lions Club in Glenwood, Minn.
Dan is survived by his wife, Becky of Waterloo; son, Danny of St. Paul; son, Mike (Trina) of Waconia, Minnesota; daughter, Edie Saice of Woodbury, MN; four grandchildren: Jackson Saice, Caroline Harding, and Jaidyn and Mikey Saice; two brothers and four sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
