Biography--

Ronald N. Weber, Sr., 85, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, November 4, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born October 31, 1930 in LaPorte City, son of Edmund and Rose Schmitz Weber. He married Mary Ann Fettkether on November 6, 1951 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Barclay Township.

Ron founded Weber Urethane Insulation, Inc. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include: his wife; six sons, Marvin (Betty) Weber and Patrick (Julie) Weber, both of Waterloo, Larry (Cindy) Weber of Cedar Falls, Roger (Joi) Weber of Evansdale, Ronald (Traci) Weber, Jr. of Toddville and Craig (Colleen) Weber of Lakeville, Minnesota; two daughters, Joan Weber of Spring, Texas and Jane (Dave) Dirks of Urbandale; a daughter-in-law, Diane Weber Stephan of Reinbeck; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three brothers, Jim (Carol) Weber of Gilbertville, Jack Weber and Eddie Weber, both of Raymond; three sisters, Roberta (Bob) Gray of Waterloo, Wilma (Kenny) Fischels of Gilbertville and Mary Jean Braun of Lompoc, California; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Weber of Puyallup, Washington.

Preceded in death by: a son, Richard Weber; a brother, Elmer Weber; and a sister, Geneva Wallace.

Services will be Monday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1623 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Ron enjoyed meeting friends for coffee, playing cards, working out at the Wellness Center and family birthday luncheons with his brothers and sisters. He was especially proud to be a part of the May 6, 2014 Honor Flight.
