Robert "Bob" Jensen

April 19, 1941 - January 26, 2015

Robert “Bob” Jensen, 73, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died of natural causes following a short illness at home on Monday, January 26, 2015. He was born April 19, 1941, in Cedar Falls, the son of Herman Erick and Arlene Ruth (Neverman) Jensen.

Bob married Monica Ryan on September 1, 1962, at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1959 and attended the University of Northern Iowa and Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. Bob was a supervisor at the Engine Works for John Deere & Company for 26 years, retiring in 1998 after 38 years of service. He was a treasurer for the Cedar Falls High School Athletics Booster Club and the treasurer for the Cedar Falls High School Class of 1959 reunions.

Survivors include his wife, Monica Jensen, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kim (Bill) Jordan and Tami (Tony) Halterman, both of Cedar Falls; a son, Erick (Mary) Jensen, of Savage, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen and Nick Jordan, Jared & Katie Halterman, and Ryan Guinta, and a brother, Dick (Cheryl) Jensen, of Waverly, Iowa.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be Thursday, January 29, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls High School or the UNI Athletic Departments.
