West View Cemetery with graveside military rites will be conducted by the La Porte City U.S.S. San Diego American Legion Post #207 and V.F.W. Normandy Post 3983.

Biography--

Orville Clinton Jensson, 94, of La Porte City, died Saturday, February 7, 2015, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born November 9, 1920 in Holt Township, Minnesota, the son of Ole R. and Clara (Anderson) Jensson. He was a 1939 graduate of Peterson High School in Peterson, Minnesota. He married J. Ione Iverson on June 8, 1947 in Lanesboro, Minnesota; she preceded him in death on May 24, 2008.

He served under General Patton in the U.S. Army during World War II where he drove a half-track. Orville farmed for many years in Lanesboro, Minnesota, and after moving to La Porte City he worked as a Maintainer Driver for Black Hawk County Secondary Roads Department, retiring after 20 years.

He is survived by two sons, Glen (Julie) of Lanesboro, Minnesota, Jim (Kyle) of La Porte City; five grandchildren, Shayn (Terri) Jensson, Melanie (David) Haugen all of Lanesboro, Minnesota, MaKaila (Jamie) Kelly of Canton, Minnesota, David Jensson of Grundy Center, Melana Jensson of Pleasant Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Lea and Logan Jensson, Madelyn and Dayton Haugen, MaKenzie, Hunter and Hailey Kelly and one brother, Gordon (Marian) Jensson of Riceville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ione; a brother, Robert Jensson and a sister, Myrna Johnson.
