Monday, February 23, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo

Visitation:
Sunday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel and also one hour before the service at the church.

Cemetery:
Hillside Cemetery in Cedar Falls with Graveside Military Rites conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail and the Guy W. Iverson AMVETS Post 49 of Cedar Falls.

Memorials:
May be directed to the Salvation Army or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Biography:
Patrick G. Vollbrecht, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, of cancer.

He was born December 13, 1944 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Gaylord and Marian (Baker) Vollbrecht. He married Betty J. Morris on June 13, 1963 in Bennettsville, SC; she preceded him in death on December 22, 2012.

He served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea. He worked as a Professional Firefighter in Waterloo for 34 1/2 years, retiring in 2000. During that time he also owned and operated All New Wood Cabinet and Certified Home Inspections in Waterloo.

Pat was past president of the Cedar Valley Woodworkers Association, past president of the Waterloo Fire Department Credit Union, board member and active volunteer at the Salvation Army and established the Area 7 Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Program. He was an active member at Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as and Elder and Deacon.

Survived by: two sons, Christopher Vollbrecht of Clear Lake, Eric (Stacey) Vollbrecht of Lincoln, NE; one daughter, Monica (Barry) Sullivan of Knoxville; nine grandchildren, Justin Everett, Brody Vollbrecht, Kylie Vollbrecht, Elizabeth Sullivan, Jacob Vollbrecht, Amy Sullivan, Erica Vollbrecht, Melanie Sullivan, Riley Vollbrecht; one sister, Berneice Sass of Waterloo and one brother-in-law, Dennis Maurer of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; one son, Timothy Vollbrecht; three sisters, Marlys Schoville, Delores Eastman, Penny Maurer and one brother Bud Jacobsen.
