Biography--

Dale O. Wilcox, 99, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, at NewAldaya Lifescapes of natural causes.

He was born August 23, 1915, on Fischer Lake (George Wyth Lake) in Cedar Falls, son of William and Mary (Craig) Wilcox.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School. Dale was united in marriage to Helen Ziebell on October 1, 1939 in Waterloo.

He was President/General Manager of Hoxie Fruit Company in Waterloo for 33 years, retiring in 1974. He was a lifetime member of the Waterloo Elks Lodge and a past member of Sports of Sorts.

Dale loved the outdoors. He and his wife Helen lived on the Sans Souci for 40 years where he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, tennis, camping, boating, and waterskiing. They also enjoyed traveling and spent the last 20 years wintering at their home in Apache Junction, Arizona. He loved spending time outdoors with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife Helen of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kris (Barry) Beekmann of Sioux City and Jo Marcussen of Waverly; five grandsons: Britt, Cam, and Randy Marcussen and Brock and Blake Beekmann; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Howard (Dorothy) Wilcox of Davenport.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers: Carl, Wayne, Burt, Frederick, Gail, and Victor.
