Biography--

Clara M. Yearling, age 98, of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born August 2, 1916 on the family farm near New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Lena Roethler. Clara was united in marriage with Lowell H. Yearling on January 13, 1934 in Charles City, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1989.

Clara worked at Powers Manufacturing Co. for 35 years. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evansdale and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Clara and her husband bowled in league play for many years. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed keeping her lawn looking beautiful.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois Walker of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Lu Yearling of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Cindy (Bob) Stevenson and Scott Yearling; four great grandchildren, Hanna, Cole, Elizabeth and Christine; a special friend, Cheryl Smith of Waterloo and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jimmy Lee Yearling; a granddaughter, Stacey Yearling and 14 brothers and sisters.
