Biography--

Larry P. "Pat" Clark, 62, of Cedar Falls, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, on Thursday, July 16, 2015 after a brief illness.

Pat was born on March 17, 1953 in Waterloo, the son of Marvin and Loretta Eldridge Clark.

He graduated from West High School with the class of 1972. He married Michelle Remetch in Waterloo in 1976, they were later divorced.

Pat worked as a brakeman for the Illinois Central Railroad for many years.

Pat was a simple and easy going man who had a gruff exterior, but a heart of gold and also a bit of a mischievous side that he would show to his family and close friends. He had a love of nature, and enjoyed going for walks and hunting. Pat was a true history buff and could even point out errors in history books. Twinkies would always accompany his milkshakes and his root beer had to be A&W.

He didn't need a lot of friends, but found it more important to be closer to the few friends he had. Pat loved spending time with his grandchildren and would always have Hershey Kisses around for them.

Survived by: a daughter, Melanie Clark; a son, Patrick (Jessi) Clark; nine grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Emma) Clark, all of Waterloo; two sisters, Julie (Benny) Waskow, of Umatilla, Florida, and Joyce Geist, of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents.
