Services:
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, 3146 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa

Visitation:
Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the services on Friday at the Funeral Home.

Cemetery:
Graveside services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois.

Biography--

Dail E. Bowman, age 96, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home in Ridgeway Place.

He was born August 12, 1919 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Richard Brown and Lillian Dail Pomeroy Bowman. Dail was a graduate of Galesburg High School. He was united in marriage with Lois Evelyn Adams on September 10, 1941 in Oneida, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2001.

Dail began his career working for Commercial Credit at several Iowa locations. After moving to Burlington, he owned and operated several businesses including Yellow Cab Co., Superior Ambulance and Dail Motors. He also worked for a funeral home and finished his career as district manager for Delano Granite Co. of Delano, Minnesota for 9 years retiring in 1982.

Dail was a US Army Veteran serving from November 2, 1943 until his honorable discharge on November 18, 1945 and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater ribbon with 3 bronze stars. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed stamp collecting and was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Survivors include two sons, Michael D. Bowman of Ames, Iowa, and Jeffrey D. (Rita) Bowman of Muncie, Indiana; a daughter, Patricia A. “Patty” (Russell) Clark of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; a daughter-in-law, Michael’s wife Betty; a grandson, Matthew Bowman; and a great grandson, Grady Larson.
