Marilyn L. McAlpin, 85, of Waterloo, died at Rosewood Estate of Friendship Village, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 of natural causes.
Marilyn was born on March 22, 1930 in Lohrville, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Edna Hardy Pittman.
She graduated from Lohrville High School in 1948.
Marilyn married Dale C. McAlpin on February 12, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Lohrville. He died June 2, 2013.
She worked as a homemaker and was also a bus driver for Don Bosco and Waterloo schools.
Marilyn was member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, Eastern Star, was a 4-H Leader, and an Orange correspondent to the Hudson Herald.
Survived by three sons: Alan D. (Marilee) McAlpin of Cedar Falls, Jan W. (Judy) McAlpin of Peoria, IL, and Jerry F. (Sue Finzer-Moor) McAlpin of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Charlene A. (Paul) Ackerman of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Riley McAlpin of Waterloo, Christina (Matt) Carlton of New Hampton, Cliff (Kelly) Ackerman of Mesa, AZ, and Stacey (Brad) Allis of Tucson, AZ; and nine great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Grace, Genevieve, Payton, Paige, Preston, Parker, Tyler and Rylee.
Preceded in death by parents and a sister, Laurene Gemberling.
