Biography--

Elizabeth Sue Wittwer, 63, of Waterloo, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home.

She was born December 15, 1951 in Waterloo the daughter of Jessie (Lisa) Widner and Donald Hepperle. She was a 1970 graduate of Waterloo East High and attended Hawkeye Community College receiving her degree in Marketing in 1985. She was united in marriage to Melvin L. Wittwer on August 12, 1988 in Waterloo.

Elizabeth had worked as a Bartender and Waitress on Star Clipper Train in Waverly, The Hat Trick, and most recently for Paulie’s. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping and boating as well as a seamstress. She was a Civil War Reenactor portraying the 16th US Medical Corp, and a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary helping to promote boating safety on the Mississippi as well as helping teach safe boating classes at WBM Marine.

She is survived by her adoptive father, Donald Hepperle of Waterloo; her husband, Melvin Wittwer of Waterloo; one son, Tony (Angela) McNelly of Fair Grove, MO; three daughters, Tammie (Merritt) Wayland of Stockton, CA, Jenny (Nick) Puls of Cedar Falls, Crista Rosecke of Austin, MN; two step children, Mikaela (Scott) Backinski of Savage, MN, Jeffrey (Jenny) Wittwer of Olathe, KS; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchild and four sisters; Rita Crow, Sheila Merritt, Molly Hepperle, Lisa Hepperle and three brothers, Daniel Hepperle, Joe Hepperle and Randy Hepperle.

Preceded in death by: her mother and a daughter, Misty Brockway.
