Biography--

Glenola June (Schadt) Bunting was born to Oscar and Edith (Trego) Schadt in Independence, Iowa on May 28, 1924.

She died at the age of 91 on Monday, September 14, 2015 in Cherokee, Iowa at the Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center. Glenola married Marlyn Arch Bunting in Waterloo on June 4, 1947, and had six children, sixteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She worked as a Seamstress for the troops in World War II. Spending most of her life as a farmer’s wife, Glenola was also a foster parent and longtime babysitter.

She had a love for baking and was a fierce bingo player at the Cherokee Villa. Glenola was sweet and sassy, leaving a lifetime of memories to all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her outspoken approach to life, her penchant for nick-knacks and garage sales, her love for her family and friends, and her faithful devotion to Burton Avenue Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities.

She was fond of many of the old hymns of the Christian faith, and loved teaching John 3:16 to children. Glenola and Marlyn spent their entire marriage devoted to Jesus Christ, one another, and their family. They were a blessing to many people in their community and leave behind a godly legacy.

She is survived by five children: Dennis (Laurie) Bunting of Sarasota, FL, Douglas Bunting of Simla, CO, Karla (Michael) Kennicott of Paducah, KY, Karma (Rick) Tolman of Alta, IA, and Dwight (Peggy) Bunting of Sacramento, CA; 15 grandchildren: Shane Bunting of Denver, CO, Joshua Turner of West Point, MS, Matthew Kennicott of Santa Fe, NM, Justin Bunting of Creste Butte, CO, Micah (David) Wagener of Cheyenne, WY, Nicholas (Felicia) Kennicott of Rincon, GA, Carrie (Ian McVay) Bunting of Denver, CO, Clint (Stacey) Bunting of Elk Grove, CA, Zachary Bunting of Sarasota, FL, Samantha (Chad) Abel of Sarasota, FL, Brandon (Stacey) Bunting of Calhan, CO, Calynn (Daniel) Dixon of Sacramento, CA, Grace Bunting of Sacramento, CA, Charles Pfost of Sacramento, CA, and Oliver Pfost of Sacramento, CA; and nine great-grandchildren: Clara and Alaina Kaskey, Charlie Wagener, Weston and Emma Bunting, Eva and Abry and Nicholas Kennicott, and Oliver Abel.
