Biography--

VETERAN

James Robert “Jim” McGrew, 90, of Waterloo died Monday, October 19, 2015 at his home in Runnells. He was born September 16, 1925 in Sumner the son of Oren and Flossie (Jenkins) McGrew. He married Earleen L. Howard on July 3, 1948 in Waterloo.

Jim worked as an Auto Mechanic in several car dealerships for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 2nd Marine Division during World War II. He was a member of the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and V.FW. Post 1623.

Survived by: his wife, Earleen of Runnells; three daughters, Martha (Steve) Etten of Grand Lake, Colorado, Jolyn Pilger of Runnells; Donna McGrew of Madison, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Orville, William “Bill” and Marvin McGrew and two sisters, Ethel Bishop and Elma Moch.
