Ronald Allen Fouts was born March 17, 1947, son of Cedric and Athelda (Heasley) Fouts in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Waterloo schools, wrestling for West High School. After graduation he worked for John Deere for 30 years until his retirement.

Ron married Andrea (Edsill) in 1966 and they were later divorced. He was married to Lyla (Donovan) in 1969 and she passed away in 2004. He wed Tammy (Metcalf) in 2005 and the couple was married for over nine years. Ron was very active in church, serving many children through the years in his bus ministry; he enjoyed biking, hunting, fishing and camping but most of all, Iowa State University Wrestling. Ron was a long term member of the UAW and ISU Athletic Booster Club.

Ron passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, at home, due to complications of diabetes, surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Fouts; two sons, Martin (Maria) Fouts of Waterloo and Daniel (Amber) Fouts of Freeland, WA; three daughters, Renee (Jeff) Erickson of Bettendorf; Lisa Hintzman of Cedar Falls; and Kristina Winther of New Hartford; and three stepdaughters, Hannah (Brad) Clevenger of Indianola, Elisabeth (James) Gardner of Muscatine, and Rachel (Matthew) Woods of Collins; two brothers, Bob (Marla) Fouts of Palm Springs, CA, and Kenny (Brenda) Fouts of Aberdeen, SD; two sisters, Cindy Roff of Baton Rouge, LA, and Candy (Jim) Paul of Dunkerton; and seventeen grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lyla; brothers John Fouts; Ted Fouts; Fred Fouts; Tommy Fouts and Richard Fouts; a sister, Carolyn Forsyth; a granddaughter Alyssa Erickson; and a brother-in-law Nate Roff who also died on December 29, 2014.
