Gary Ervin Wroe was born April 22, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Henry “Hank” and Barbara (Wroe) Hartmann. He joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era as a Corporal E4 Gunman, Battery C, 7th Battalion, 15th Artillery.

Gary was married to Rita Routhier on December 10, 2011. He was a truck driver for 32 years, retiring from Warren Transportation. Gary enjoyed barbequing, fishing, camping and racecar driving. Most importantly, he loved his family.

Gary passed away at his home on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 67 from lung cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his wife Rita of Evansdale; a son Robbie (Betty) Wroe of Evansdale; a step-son Jason (Danielle) Bocash of Jefferson, Wisconsin; a daughter Barbie Wroe-Steere of Evansdale; two step-daughters: Beth Ames of Waterloo and Marcia Bocash of St. Petersburg, Florida; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way.
