Edwin (E.V.) Hauff was born Sept. 19, 1936, in Watertown, S.D. to Edwin and Cecilia (Stolz) Hauff. EV attended Immaculate Conception grade school and went on to graduate from Watertown High School in 1955. E.V. was head of the former Schoitz Memorial Hospital inhalation therapy department, and then switched careers to become assistant manager of Messingham’s Second Base, Cedar Falls.

In 1978, he was hired by Miller Medical Equipment, where he was employed for 13 years delivering and servicing medical equipment. In 1991, he left Miller Medical to join his former boss and long-time friend Van Miller in his new business venture at Van G. Miller and Associates. E.V. worked in the warehouse and in concentrator repair until his retirement in 2012.

E.V. enjoyed sharing a meal, a drink and a laugh with his friends. He was a kind man with a wonderful sense of humor. EV would often give of his resources to those in need, never looking for recognition, just wanting to help others. He loved visits from old friends and car rides on beautiful days.

E.V. passed peacefully at the age of 78 at Rosewood Estates, where he had been a resident.

He is survived by three sisters Diana (Larry) Zwieg of Brookings, S.D.; Judy Hauff of Chicago; Melanie Hauff of Chicago; a brother, John Hauff of Watertown, S.D.; and a number of special friends, including his VGM Family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet (Pierre) Fuller.
