Erin Lynn Rash was born August 15, 1990 in Waterloo; the daughter of Bob and Shelley (Funk) Schmidt. She graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 2008.
Erin was married to Paul Rash on August 27, 2011 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a bartender and server at the Isle Casino in Waterloo, until becoming a stay at home mom to her daughters. Erin passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Unity Point Health Allen Hospital at the age of 24.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Harold and Rhuella “Skelly” Schmidt.
Erin is survived by her husband Paul Rash of Waterloo; parents, Bob and Shelley Schmidt of Waterloo; maternal grandparents, Robert and JoAnn Funk of Rockport, Texas; two daughters, Alyna and Josie Rash of Waterloo; a brother, Jordan (Krista) Schmidt of Waterloo; and a sister Meghan Schmidt of Waterloo.
Erin will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be directed to the family.
