Duane Harold Ingle

November 5, 1935 - August 11, 2015

Duane Harold Ingle was born November 5, 1935, in Runnells, Iowa, son of Harold and Nola (Daugherty) Ingle. He was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School with the Class of 1955.

On June 2, 1955 Duane was united in marriage to Marlene Van Egdom. The two raised four children teaching them a deep love for God and family. Duane served as an Elder at Cedarloo Church of Christ. He worked a variety of jobs through the years retiring from John Deere in 1994.

Duane loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He served on the Board for the Evelyn Wilson Nature Preserve in Traer. Most of all he loved his family and delighted in spending time with his children, then grandchildren, and finally great-grandchildren. He never met a stranger and made connections with long time friends as well as new acquaintances always drawing them into his deep faith.

Duane passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the Elizabeth E. Martin Center in Cedar Falls, at the age of 79 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers; a grandson, Joshua David Ingle; and 2 infant great-grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marlene; four children: Sharon Marlene (Dennis) Stoakes of Traer, Dennis Duane (Michelle) Ingle of Clive, David Alan (Sandraeline) Ingle of Traer, and Nancy Marie (Don) McMahan of Newhall; nine grandchildren: William (Corindy) Stoakes, John (Dawn) Stoakes, Sara (Taylor) Kvidera, Hannah Ingle, Katherine Ingle, Amber (Jeremy) Monat, Brandon (Katherine) Ingle, Rachel (Andrew) McKeever and Donnie (Maria) McMahan; six great-grandchildren: Levi, Aubree, Ava, Josie, Jack and Asher; one brother Larry (Illa) Ingle of Newton; and one sister Verlee Covington of Enola, Arkansas.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed between Unity Point Hospice and Cedarloo Church of Christ.
