Brayten John Simmons was born on Monday, October 12, 2015: son of Jonathen Simmons and Nichole Sero, both of Waterloo. He passed away shortly after his birth.

Brayten is preceded in death by two brothers: Mitcheal Baruth, Jr. and Layton Ronald Simmons; his paternal grandfather Michael Bright; paternal great-grandparents Melvin and Lois Wilson; maternal great-grandparents: Robert Sero, Sr. and Beatrice Schuman and maternal great-grandfather Ronald Schares.

Brayten is survived by his parents; a brother Ryan Simmons of Reinbeck; two sisters, Hailee Burchard and Kylee Baruth both of Waterloo; paternal grandparents, Jim and Denise Rabbitt of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; maternal grandparents Charles and Victoria Sero of Waterloo; paternal great-grandparents, John and Shirley Simmons of Evansdale and maternal great-grandmother Genevieve Schares of Waterloo.
