Obituary for Eva Grace Bonney

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Eva “Babe” Grace Miller Bonney, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, in Cedar Falls.

She was born September 25, 1927, in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Roy and Eva (Wood) Miller. Following her father’s death, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Viggo Petersen. She married Carroll Bonney on February 8, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He died December 26, 2011.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1945. She was employed as a secretary at Lincoln School and retired from the University of Northern Iowa as Library reference secretary.

Survived by a daughter, Cathy (Robert) Cooper of Cedar Falls; a son, Scott (Jolene) Bonney of Ankeny; five grandchildren: Kimberly (Chad) Abbas, Kevin (Tiffany) Cooper, Kent (Jennifer) Cooper, Aaron Bonney and Matt Bonney; eight great grandchildren: Makayla, Michael, Mason, Cassandra, Ethan, Carson, Paiton, and Evan; two brothers, Dale (Iola) Petersen of Iowa City and Don (Letha) Petersen of Cedar Falls; a sister, Janet (Bruce) Besh of Cedar Falls; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Bonney of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Darrell Bonney.

Services: Friday at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
