CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Jim Gard, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, February 9, 2015, at his home.

He was born December 4, 1934 in Ventura, Iowa, son of Harold and Bernice (Cunningham) Gard. He married Pamela Dahlberg on June 30, 1962 in Ventura.

He graduated from Ventura High School and served in the US Navy. He worked for the United States Post Office for 37 years, retiring in 1998, as Postmaster in Waverly. He also volunteered at the Dan Gable Wrestling Museum in Waterloo.

Survived by: his wife, Pam; two sons, Jeff (Jean) of Cedar Falls; Randy of Davenport; and five grandchildren: Anthony, Aaron (Annie) Gougler of Cedar Falls, Natalie Gougler of Des Moines, Quentin and Killian Gard of Davenport; two sisters and one brother.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother and a sister.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Dan Gable Wrestling Museum (303 Jefferson St., Waterloo).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dan Gable Wrestling Museum.
