Ann Rueber (1921-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Ann Rueber, 94, of Cedar Falls, died March 23, 2015 at the Western Home Communities – Windhaven.

She was born January 16, 1921, in Dunlap, Iowa, daughter of Orin G. and Sophia Maria (Graesing) Chase. She married Rev. Arthur Rueber on October 27, 1942 in Mapleton, Iowa. He died February 4, 1963.

She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1938 and earned her K-Primary teaching certificate from ISTC. In 1969, she earned her BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She was a First Grade teacher in Dunlap, Ventura, and then at North Cedar Elementary School in Cedar Falls for 16 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by: three sons: David (Carol) of Traer, Mark (Jill) of Brunswick, GA, and Joel (Betsy) of Wausau, WI; two daughters, Lois (Bill) Timmermann of Sibley, Madelyn (George) Peregrim of Fishers, IN; ten grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Rex (Everett) Chase of Berkeley, CA; and three sisters-in-law: Faye Chase of Dunlap, Catherine Chase of Scottsdale, AZ, and Mary Chase of Iowa City.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, John; four brothers: Guilford, Dean, Roger and Duane Chase, and one sister, Donna Patton.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at College Hill Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Garner.

Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the church.
