Obituary for Lucy I. Boyce

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Lucy Irene (Sherbon) Boyce, 92, formerly of Seattle, WA, died Sunday, May 17, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
She was born January 24, 1923, the daughter of John and Hazel (Price) Sherbon. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1940.

She married William Brandhorst on August 1, 1942 in Cedar Falls, they later divorced. On October 14, 1949, she married Gilbert Boyce in Centralia, Washington. He died February, 26, 1984.

She worked for Maid-rite, Regent Theater, MacDougall’s Café, Rath Packing and Canfield Airways locally, and worked as an executive secretary for Boeing for 37 years in Seattle, retiring in 1981.

Survived by two sisters, Barbara (Victor) Mark of Cedar Falls, and Virginia (Daniel) Gerst of Waterloo, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: her husband; three brothers, Gerald, John and Robert Sherbon; a nephew, Barry Eastman; and Nieces, Patricia (Sherbon) Foreman and Vickie (Mark) Castle.

Funeral Services on Wednesday, at New Aldaya Lifescapes Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to New Aldaya Lifescapes or Cedar Valley Hospice.
