Mildred Joan (Tay) Deal (1920-2015)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Mildred J. Deal, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born January 18, 1920 in Janesville, Iowa, daughter of Warren and Helen (Jennings) Tay. She married Stanley R. Deal on June 25, 1939. He died in 1972.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1937 and was employed by Cedar Falls Daily Record for many years; Grow & Devoe Architects for eight years and was Manager of Latta’s Main St Store, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by a son, Richard (Sue) Deal of South Bend, IN; two granddaughters, Darcy (Doug) Kosek of South Bend, and Robin (Keith) Clements of Bloomfield Hill, MI; four great grandchildren: Laurel and Cullen Clements and Ainsley and Naida Kosek of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by two infant brothers.

Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls with burial in Oakland Cemetery, rural Janesville. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
