Obituary for Nora Lee Johnston

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Nora L. Johnston, 60, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born January 10, 1955 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Harlan and Elsie Kearney Ehlert. She married Paul Johnston September 8, 1973 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1973 and was a homemaker her adult life

Survived by: her husband of Cedar Falls; two sons, Todd E. (Nicole) of Scotia, New York, and Stephen of Portland, Maine; two grandchildren, Caleb and Caitlyn Johnston of Scotia, New York; and parents of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: her brother, Brian Ehlert

Services: Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.

During Nora’s short life, she enjoyed the company of family and friends. Her favorite passions were her flower gardens, watching and feeding the humming birds, taking care of her family and home and driving her MINI with the Eastern Iowa Minis. She always managed a positive attitude and kept her smile.
