Donald Dean Hayungs

May 24, 1945 - November 25, 2014

Donald Dean Hayungs died peacefully of heart disease at the University of Iowa Hospital on November 25th, 2014, at the age of 69.

Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years in June, Sandra Hayungs; and by two sons, Donald Todd Hayungs (Kimber) of Cedar Falls and Douglas Dean Hayungs (Tammy) of Corpus Christi, Texas, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as, brothers Robert (Karleda) of Clear Lake, Ronald (Shirley) of La Porte City, Lyle (Esther) Raymond of El Paso, Texas, half-brother Mark and one sister Janet Greene of Cedar Falls

He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Virginia Foutz Hayungs, parents Maurice and Pearle Raymond and a brother Harlan (Judy).

Donald was born on May 24th, 1945 in Charles City to Arthur and Virginia Hayungs and lived his early years in Greene, Iowa before moving to Waterloo and graduating from West High in 1964. He married Sandra Lee Payne, his church camp girlfriend, in 1965, and worked at John Deere for 34 years as a tool grinder.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Westview Cemetery, LaPorte City, with a reception to follow at the church. Pastor Moore will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donald s life.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of University Hospital or the Salvation Army.
