Vergel Mae “Daisy” Bohr, 89, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Saturday, January 24 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born January 2, 1926 in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Elvina Widow Schlie. She married Harold A. “Bud” Bohr June 15, 1945 in Waterloo. He died April 15, 1999.

Daisy graduated from Waverly High School. She was employed with Alstadt Langlas Bakery for 15 years and then helped at her daughter’s business, Bargain Heaven for 25 years.

Survived by a daughter, Dianne K. (Karl) Dyke of Waterloo; two sons, Steve J. (Theresa) of Bristol, Wisc. and Robert J. of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Rebecca K. (Rich Bittner) Dix, Stephanie Crane, Steve Bohr, Jr., Riley Bohr, Tucker Bohr, Joseph (Kathleen) Romay, Teresa (Chad) Miller, Tammy (Scott) Peterson; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Gage, Nicholas, Jonathan, Brandon, Britney and Ella; and a sister, Arlene (Rolla) King of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and David Wachlin; a grandson, Richard Dyke; a nephew, Danny O’Dell; two brothers, Keith and Lester Schlie and four sisters, Ruth Petersen, Dorothy Ashen, Marie Pelly, and Mildred Stapleton.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 7 pm vigil service and continue for an hour before services at the church on Friday.
