Patricia A. Sturtz, 93, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 12 at Unity Point Allen Hospital.

She was born January 21, 1922 in Clinton, the daughter of Patrick and Eileen O’Rourke Lanaghan. She married Eugene Sturtz April, 1951 in Aiken, South Carolina. He died in 1964.

Patricia graduated from Lyons High School in Clinton and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Iowa City. She worked in the nursing profession for over 40 years and was in the Army Nurses Corps.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel of rural Durango, Colo. and William of Durango, Colo.; two daughters, Cynthia Powell of Waterloo and Sheila (Michael) Colling of Rochester, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Shay (Michael) Jacquez, Katie Powell, Sean Powell and David Dressler; two great-grandchildren, Adrian and Jazmyn Jacquez.

Preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be on Tuesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton with burial in St. Irenaeus Cemetery also in Clinton. Public visitation in Waterloo will on Sunday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and in Clinton from on Monday at Pape Funeral Home in Clinton where there will be a rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services on Tuesday at the church in Clinton.

Memorials may be directed to St. Edward Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both in Waterloo.
