Biography--

Dixie L. Posey, 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 25, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born February 10, 1931 in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Helen Carney Hirsch. She married Robert W. Posey on April 23, 1949, in Cedar Falls. He died in 1983.

Dixie was employed with the Ben Franklin Store on Logan Avenue for 29 years, retiring in 1998.

Survivors include: four daughters, Deborah (Kenneth) Chudzinski of Independence, Cynthia (Pat) Pierson-Hughes of Sumner, Barbara (Tim) McBride of Denver and Sheryl Cobb of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; and two step-brothers, Gary (Karen) Heidemann of Janesville and Robert (Kay) Heidemann of Collins.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Vernon Hirsch.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and at the church for one hour before services on Monday.
