Biography--

Marvin T. Freeland, 75, of Mt. Auburn, died Friday, May 8, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born May 17, 1939 in Clarks, Nebraska, son of Fred and Evelyn Peck Freeland. He married Karen Jones on June 1, 1988, in Central City, Nebraska.

Marvin was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Germany. He was engaged in farming in Nebraska for many years and later was a greeter at the Waterloo Walmart.

Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Heather (Robert) Bathen of LaPorte City and Michelle (Todd) Shapland of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Tryston DeGarmo, Devin DeGarmo, Haylie Shapland, Kaleb Bathen and Hailey Bathen; a brother, Kenneth Freeland of Omaha, Nebraska; and a sister, Bonnie Whitehead of Omaha, Nebraska.

Preceded in death by: three sisters, Mae Marie Craig, Lucille Kantor and Doris Ann Glinnsman.

There will be no services.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
