Life Legacy--

Deborah Kay Getty Hammargren, 54, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 12 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born January 9, 1961 in Chelmsford, England, daughter of Harold E. and Carol A. Livesey Getty. She married Neil E. Hammargren November 15, 1985 in Waterloo.

Deborah graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1979. She was employed with Huttig Distribution, formerly Rock Island Millwork, for 22 years and then in the Human Resource Dept. of Building Products in Evansdale.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Joel (Kristy) Hammargren of Waterloo; a daughter, Taylor (Jerrone Mabry) Hammargren of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Bella, Jace and Riley; her parents of Waterloo; a brother, Mark Getty of Cedar Falls and two nieces and two nephews.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Whitney Kay Jackson.

Memorial services will be Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, with visitation for an hour before services. Hagarty–Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Deborah was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Her family wants to express their appreciation for all the prayers and support shown to her.
