August 27, 1947 - July 21, 2015
Mervin “Skip” Adams, 67, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 21, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born August 27, 1947, in Waterloo, the son of Melvin and Mary Swanson Adams. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was employed with Prairie Construction until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Tony (Angie) Adams of Washington and Jason (Jodi) Adams of Buckingham; numerous grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Regina) Adams of Dyersburg, Tenn, and Larry “Butch” (Karen) Adams of Ankeny; a sister, Janice (Dean) Hartline of Linden, Tenn; his longtime companion, Becky Fourtner and her children, Scott Fourtner, Angie Fourtner, and Jodie Boike all of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Garold Adams.
Time of Sharing will be at 11 A.M. Friday, July 24, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street preceded by an hour of visitation with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31 assisted by the Iowa Army Honor Guard.
