June 27, 1928 - August 2, 2015

Agnes Marie “Molly” Plaehn, 87, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, August 2, at NewAldaya.

She was born June 27, 1928 in Waterloo, daughter of Frank L. and Agnes H. Morgan Eastman. She married Ross R. Plaehn on December 31, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He died March 2, 2013.

Molly attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She later attended Gates Business College. She was the Business Manager for Consolidated Regional Laboratories (formerly Black Hawk Lab) in Waterloo, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include: two daughters, Becky (Tim) Rogers of Wheatridge, Colorado and Marilyn (Larry) Cavanaugh of Waterloo; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: four brothers, Bernard “Bunny”, Louis LaVern “Tud”, Bob, and Francis Eastman; and a sister, Helen Pfiffner.

There will be no services. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Columbarium. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway assisted the family.

Memorials may be directed to St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Cedar Bend Humane Society or Care Initiatives Hospice.
