Biography--

Paul D. Beal, 79, of Waterloo, Iowa, died January 16, 2015 of a sudden illness, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on August 4, 1935, in Mason City, the son of Cecil and Lorna Mensink Beal. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Paul married LaVerne “Vernie” Herman on September 28, 1957 at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City and they lived a life full of love and friendship.

He worked for John Deere for 30 years as a Sheet Metal worker retiring in 1989. Later, he helped his son, Paul "Jay", at Beal’s Sheet Metal in Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife; three children: Melodie Decker, Paul (Michele) Beal, and Dawn (Dave) Graham; grandchildren: Courtney (Chris) Dunn, Jayson Beal (Allison McKinley), Emily (Mike) Christensen, Kelsie Graham (Michael Swisher), Ashley Graham (Justin Reed), Jamie Graham, Tyler (Mel) Honn & Shelby Honn; great-grandchildren: Cole Dunn, Nick, Zander & Ben Christensen, Quintin & Brooklyn Honn; his sister, Verlynn (Carl) Swaim; and his brother, Jerry (Janet) Beal.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Duane Beal.

He enjoyed spending time with Vernie working in their yard and relaxing on the deck with family. He also loved to walk their dog Karlee Sue.
