Biography--

Elliott A. Wilson, 79, of Waterloo, died at this home Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Elliott was born April 27, 1935, in LaPorte City, son of Arthur and Ella (Drews) Wilson. Elliott grew up in LaPorte City and Waterloo and attended school in Waterloo. He married Lynka Gruver in 1953, and they later divorced.

Elliott worked as a test technician at John Deere for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the UAW Local 838 and the Buick Club of America. He loved to work with his hands and tinker. He rebuilt cars and engines and owned and restored two Crosleys, a 1951 panel delivery truck and a Super Sport. He also rebuilt a 1990 Buick Reatta convertible. He also enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

Survivors include: daughter Nadine (Dean) Olson of Ames, Iowa; son Ted (Debra) Wilson of Waterloo, son Ross Wilson of Waterloo; son Jeff (Pat) Wilson of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister Joan Ringdahl of Clinton, Iowa; sister Jean (Charles) Kromer of Waverly; and brother Gilman Wilson of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Preceded in death by: Parents, step‑mother Geraldine Ronk Wilson, and brother Truman Wilson.
