Jeanette Harris, 95, of Waterloo, died at Rosewood Estate of Friendship Village, on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
She was born on August 21, 1919 in Bristow, daughter of Charles and Annie (Diekmann) Stewart.
Jeanette graduated from Dewitt High School in 1937.
She married Lyle G. Harris on November 11, 1939 at Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died Feb. 10, 2005.
Jeanette was member of First United Methodist Church since 1939, United Methodist Women, Designers Sunday school class, and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Jeanette is survived by: sons Gary (Mary) Harris of Godfrey, Illinois, and Donn (Sharon Miller) Harris of Waterloo; seven grandchildren: Todd (Anna) Harris of Long Grove, Illinois, Christi (Jeff) Counton of Maryville, Illinois, Marci (Gene) Dodds of Granite City, Illinois, Andrew Harris of Seattle, Washington, David (Katie) Harris of White Bear Lake Township, Minnesota, Carrie (Jeremy) Denton of Raymond, Iowa, Lindsey (Mark) Alexander of Minneapolis, Minn.; 15 great-grandchildren: Ben, Sara, Ryan Harris; Alli, Hunter, Chase, Tad Counton; Parker Dodds; Claire Harris; Riley, Mason, Ashlyn Denton; and Eleanor, Charlie, Will Alexander; brother James (Barbara) Stewart, of Annandale, Virginia; sister-in-law: Diana Lauterbach; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, sisters Margaret "Marnie" Harris and Mary Ann Lauterbach; brother Don Stewart; brothers‑in‑law Glen Harris and Cecil Lauterbach.
