Frances Hoger, 89, of Waterloo, died at NorthCrest Specialty Care on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
Frances was born March 13, 1925 in Parkersburg, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Wildeboer Wallbaum. She married Elias A. Hoger June 30, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo; he died in January of 1979.
Frances attended Parkersburg rural schools. She was a self‑employed bookkeeper in Waterloo. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1946. She was a member of Immanuel Women’s Guild and Hannah Circle. She has been a member of Allen Hospital Auxiliary since the 1950s.
Frances was very knowledgeable about and enjoyed collecting antiques. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved traveling. She enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. Frances was keenly interested in visiting shut-ins and people in the nursing home.
Frances is survived by six nephews: David (Nancy) Wallbaum of Waterloo; Russell (Tish) Wallbaum of Canby, Oregon; Frank (Jeane) Diehl of Waterloo; Kendall (Kathy) Diehl of Waterloo; Scott (Gladys) Diehl of Council Bluffs; and Michael (Lisa) Koloc of Gilbertville; a niece Sandy Helm of Tennessee; many great‑nieces and nephews; and close friends: the Richard Morris, Sr family and Melissa Wilkens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Hermena Hunemuller, Pat Koloc, Harriet Diehl; brothers, Fred Wallbaum, and Hienie Wallbaum; nephews, Ronald E. Wallbaum and Ronald R. Wallbaum, and a niece, Donna Marie McEwen.
