Biography--

Judith Ann Pates, 69, of Raymond, died at her home, on Monday March 2, 2015.

She was born on December 13, 1945 in Andalusia, Alabama, daughter of John and Evelyn (Davis) Lee.

Judy graduated from Waterloo East High in 1964.

She married Duane Pates on January 11, 1964 in Preston, Minnesota.

Judy worked for Standard Battery and Electric for several years and also worked at Area 7 School Systems for five years.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waterloo.

Judy is survived by: her husband, daughters: Lisa (Chuck) Dudley of Winthrop and Wendy (Shawn) Bass of Evansdale; son Jason (Melissa) Pates of Denver; ten grandchildren: Jacob, Amber, and Rachel Dudley; Cassie Pates; Colton Bass; Bryan Harper; and Sam Pates; Carley, Kristina, and Brady Happel; four great-grandchildren: Gunner Dudley, Harley Dudley, Kenzlee Pothast, and Beckham Harper; and sister Jane (Steve) Hayes of Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by: son, David Pates and a brother, Johnny Lee.
