Biography--

Arther Weltzin, 81 of Waterloo died at his home on Saturday, September 12, 2015 of natural causes.

He was born June 21, 1934 in Poyner Township, son of Ernest and Louise Rohrssen Weltzin. Arther served in the United States Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge.

He married Barbara Marie Long July 3, 1959 in Waterloo at the Zion Lutheran Church. He worked 32 years for Rath Packing Co. until it closed, 4 years at Farmstead in Cedar Rapids, then 6-1/2 years at the packing plant in Marshalltown. He attended St. Ansgar Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Weltzin of Waterloo, daughter, Melodie (Mike) Satterlee of Waterloo; and son, Mike Weltzin of Waterloo; grandson, Brandonn Satterlee of Waterloo; and a sister, Jeneen Richter of Marshalltown, Iowa.

Arther is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd, Arnold, Ernest Jr., and Merle Weltzin; and sisters, Mary Lou Powers and Linda Merfeld.
