Rose Chrasta, 89, of Western Home Community, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Memorial Hospital, Saturday, September 12, 2015.

Rose Marie Sprio was born April 8, 1926, in Waterloo, the daughter of Carmello and Phillipa Zammuto Sprio. Rose grew up in Waterloo attended Waterloo Schools and graduated from East High School 1944.

Rose married Mike Chrasta July 4, 1952, in Waterloo. He died October 10, 2011. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and Covenant Auxiliary.

Survivors include: daughter Paula (Randy) McDougall of Cedar Falls; two sons Mike (Kathy) Chrasta of Wylie, Texas, and Todd Chrasta of Waterloo; three grandchildren: Joseph, Becca and Rosie Chrasta; and her sister Millie (Marv) Multhauf of Waterloo.

Preceded by: husband, parents, daughter Holly and son Tommy; four sisters Alphonsa (Alpha) Parigoras, Josephine LaMendola, Kathryn (Katy) Marquart, and Frances Neith; three brothers, Carl, Sam and Joe Sprio.

Funeral mass, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1423 Kimball Ave., Waterloo

Visitation:
Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.

Cemetery:
Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo
