Biography--

Carl A. Eicher, 91, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died at the Martin Health Center of Western Home Community on Saturday, May 30, 2015.

Carl was born September 1, 1923, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, son of Joseph and Emma Schultz Eicher. He married Ronda Juanita Donaldson November 22, 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado; she died May 14, 1977. He married Ruth Edwards Grillo February 9, 1978; she died January 22, 2008.

Along with his brother Dan, he owned and operated Eicher Bros., Inc. Home Building and Realty for 25 years, retiring in 1977. He had been president of the Waterloo Home Builders Assoc. and the Waterloo‑Cedar Falls Board of Realtors in 1976. Carl served in the African, Middle Eastern, and European Theaters in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Carl learned to play the organ, piano, and accordion – all by ear. He began playing golf after retirement and moving to Phoenix where he lived for thirty years. Carl was the second eldest of five brothers and sisters; he and his family endured the Depression and remained close all of their lives. Carl embraced the Gospel faithfully until he died Saturday evening, May 30, 2015.

Survivors include: his son Mike (Laurie) Eicher of Cedar Falls; daughter Debi (Stuart) Ford of Lafayette, Colorado; son in law Galen Denio of Spokane, Washington; two brothers, Joe (BJ) Eicher of Hillsboro, OR and Dan (Mildred) Eicher of Cedar Falls; sister Joyce Ross of Hillsboro, Oregon; six grandchildren: Julie Lane of Waterloo; Jill (Amie) Steffeneicher of Waterloo; Braden (Cassandra) Ford of Piedmont, Kansas; Brianne (Troy) Warren of Thornton, Colorado; Gloria (Bennett) Olsson of Washington; Elena (Nate) Hesse of California; thirteen great grandchildren: Conner, Sofie, Luke, and Emily Hesse; Inger, Atalie, Careese, and Gunner Olsson; Jaylynn, Sienna, and Chase Warren; Ellie Lane and Karson Kay Ford.

Carl is preceded in death by: both his wives and sister Alice Campbell.
