Charles W. "Chuck" Clos Jr.

Biography--

Charles W. “Chuck” Clos Jr., 82, of Evansdale, Iowa, died at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2015 of natural causes.

He was born April 24, 1933 in Waterloo, son of Charles and Marion Daley Clos, Sr. He graduated from East High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and then was transferred to active duty. He served at one time as a USNR recruiter and continued to serve in the Naval Reserves until May 7, 1970, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of engineman first class.

Chuck married Jeannine Pauline Anderson on June 10, 1952 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Falls.

He worked for WCFN Railroad, later Arwell Pest Control and in 1964 began working as a service tech for Sears. In 1974 he started his own business, All Home Refrigeration, later partnering with Dale Peterson as All Home TV and Appliance. In 1980 he was a service tech for Montgomery Ward until 1986 when he started Evansdale Appliance, retiring in 1993.

Chuck was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and a former member of the Waterloo American Legion. Chuck loved the times with his family at their home on Holiday Lake, water skiing and tubing and later at their motor home parked at Sugar Bottom Campgrounds at Coralville Lake.

He is survived by his wife Jeannine of Evansdale; two daughters, Debbie and husband Richard Chapman of Erie, Colorado and Jean Ann and husband David Reuter of Port Byron, Illinois; two sons, Charlie and wife Jolene of Evansdale and Jim of Elk Run Heights; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great‑grandchildren with one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister Barbara Meinders of Evansdale.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents.
