Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Leighton. 74. of 728 Wellington Street, who died of a heart condition at 5 a.m. Sunday at her home, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Locke Funeral Home.

She was born may 19, 1876, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of George and Almira Pegg.

She lived in Osage until her marriage to Edwin A. Leighton on July 24, 1894, after which they came to Waterloo.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church and a charter member of Becker chapter, Order of Eastern Star, in Waterloo.

Surviving are a son, Russell E. Leighton, 728 Wellington Street; two sisters, Miss Jennie Pegg, 723 Wellington Street, and Mrs. Tom Bishop, of Greentop, Mo.; and a grandson and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Mar. 22, 1929, and by a son, Howard.

Dr. Fred E. Miller, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
