E.S. Bruce Dies at Cedar Falls; Rites Tuesday

Cedar Falls-Final rites for Eli S. Bruce, Jr., 49, who died at his home, 413½ Main street, at 8 a.m. yesterday, will be at the Dahl funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Joseph Cochrane, pastor of First Baptist church.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Waterloo.

Bruce had been ill about seven months with cancer of the stomach.

He was born Apr. 21, 1900, at Marshalltown, where he grew to manhood. He married Helen Liebsch at Independence, May 5, 1928. They established their home in Waterloo. They moved to Cedar Falls about seven years ago.

Bruce was employed as truck driver for the Davidson Furniture Co., of Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Madeline, at home; parents in Waterloo and four sisters, Mrs. Lester Eldridge, Mrs. George Spaulding, Mrs. Howard Eldridge, all of Waterloo, and Mrs. Dean Boyles, Crystal Lake, Mo.

A brother was killed in the First World War.

The body was taken to the Dahl Funeral Home.
