PEORIA, Ill. - Marie E. Van Antwerp, 91, of 6819 N. Wilshire Dr., Peoria, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at 12:27 p.m. at Fondulac Rehabilitation Care Center in East Peoria.

She was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Waterloo, to Hans Peter and Eleanor A. Frost Hansen. She married Clyde E. Van Antwerp Jr. on Dec. 19, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. He survives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, and three sisters.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are one son, Clyde E. (Sidney) Van Antwerp III of Elkton, Ky.; one grandson, Bill (Pam) Van Antwerp of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Sheri (Randy) Birdsell of Cottontown, Tenn.; two great-granddaughters, Nikki and Carly Birdsell of Cottontown; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Travis Van Antwerp of East Peoria; and one sister, Harriett Schmitt of Waterloo.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of University United Methodist Church in Peoria since 1954.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at The Wilton Mortuary. The Rev. Gene Mace will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to University United Methodist Church or to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in her name.
