WATERLOO - David Michael Gilbert, 61, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.

He was born June 13, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Burton and Marguerite Hackbarth Gilbert. He graduated from Waterloo East High School and received an accounting degree from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. He retired from Rockwell Collins as an accountant.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Gilbert of Waterloo; a son, Chris of Cedar Rapids; his stepmother, Wilma Gilbert of Waterloo; a brother, Robert of Waterloo; and 14 half brothers and sisters.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ronald.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
