Purdy Funeral to Be Held on Monday in La Porte City

(Courier Special Services)

La Porte City, Iowa. - Mrs. Charles Purdy died Saturday after several months of illness.

The funeral will be Monday with services at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. C.D. James, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in West View Cemetery.

Ella Harmon was born Oct. 10, 1882, in Spring Creek township, and married on Sept. 7, 1902, to Charles Purdy, who survives. She is the first to die of eight sisters and two brothers.

Survivors in addition to the husband, sisters and brothers are four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Loren Wheeler, Mrs. Frank Countryman, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Mark Evans, Mrs. Walter Carlisle, Clifford and Charles Purdy, all of La Porte City, and one grandchild, Jean Marilyn Evans, La Porte City.
