CEDAR FALLS - Julianne Kuchenreuther, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center.

She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Cedar Falls, daughter of John J. and Margaret Carney McCoy. She married Cecil Kuchenreuther on July 8, 1952, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls; he died in 1998.

Julianne received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Iowa State University in 1948 and taught home economics in several small northern Iowa school districts before she married. Later in life, she worked for over 20 years as a cashier in the Maucker Union on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Survived by two daughters, Margaret Kuchenreuther of Morris, Minn., and Catherine (Bruce) Wilson of Iowa City; a son, George (Jeanette) of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Karen (Peter) Duquette, Amy Kuchenreuther, Adam Kuchenreuther and Colin Wilson; and a great-grandson, Jackson Duquette.

Preceded in death by a brother, John Francis McCoy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, followed by inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Friends of the Western Home Communities or the Friends of Iowa Public Television.

As a wonderful cook and seamstress, Julianne made a warm and loving home for her family. She read widely, enjoying fiction, as well as books about science, history, religion and the arts, and actively fostered these interests in her children. She also loved music and the theater.
