CEDAR FALLS - Harry L. Nissen, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of a head injury from a fall.

He was born Nov. 23, 1912, in rural New Hartford, son of Louis and Carrie Gram Nissen. He married Viola Webrand on Sept. 2, 1939, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Nissen was a graduate of both New Hartford High School, New Hartford, and Hemphill Diesel School, Chicago. He was a service repairman for a few years at the Webrand John Deere Tractor Dealership, Reinbeck, and a tool maker for 33 years at Viking Pump Co., Cedar Falls, retiring in 1976.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis (Carol) of Luck, Wis.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Bunz; a brother, Walter; and six sisters, Katherine Saul, Jennie Gersema, Mary Aleman, Florence Kafer, Anetta Malin and Gertrude Sands.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Memorial fund will be established.
